Brinsop Court Estate was bought by Martin and Pat Churchward in 2006. The Quist is a project by their son-in-law carpenter Matt Pescod and daughter Harriet Churchward with the aim to share the magic of this restorative place with others. They live nearby, on the estate, with their young daughter Minnie.

Matt grew up alongside his brothers in Suffolk with a shared love of music and spent his formative years in the music industry before training at the Boat Building Academy in Falmouth to learn the best carpentry techniques. Harriet trained in News Journalism then worked in Tech on branding and design projects before dabbling in styling and interior design. The Quist is their first development project together.
